Hello,

I am looking to give your guys product a try on a frag tank i am restarting. It currently has been running for awhile but planning on emptying out this weekend and restarting up using your probiotic salt as i keep majority sps frags in there, and seems thats the salt that is recommend based off your guide. I like to think of myself as more of an old school reefer and have for years lived off water changes, kalk, and heavy skimming. This is completely new to me and was wondering what are the key parts to starting your guys method of reef keeping properly? I am wondering what are the pieces of equipment, media, and supplements i need to buy? Seems to start I will need to get the Probiotic Salt and a couple reactors for your carbon and gfo, but what bacteria do i start with? Then after a couple months once it starts to fill back up with acros I will start your supplement dosing to maintain Ca/Alk/Mag, but what else is recommend to dose and why/when do you start that dosing? Also while using your system what should my water change schedule look like? I am experienced in keeping a ulns, is this similar and you feed corals based on keeping the tank at appropriate nutrient levels? (I like to shoot for nitrate: o and phosphate: .02-.03)

I understand every case is different but if i could get general breakdown/advice it would help me out a ton as i am kind of lost, even after going over your guide. Thank you in advance for any advice/help and looking forward to giving this a try!

Little background of the tank
23 gallon frag tank with 20 gallon sump
Cad Lights PLS-100 Skimmer (will be replaced with a new Tunze DOC Skimmer)
Mag 3 return
gyre xf 130 powerhead
Refugium with 2lbs of miracle mud, ton of cheato, and about 30lbs of rock rubble throughout sump
AI Hydra 52 Hd for lighting

Old thread i bought your product. You would think there wold be something in cyberspace discussing dosing, like brs has a simple calculator that works

I am planning to run as close to a pure Aquaforest system for my 180g display myself, so I understand your need for information. The key takeaways I have so far concerning the AF method is very low nutrients, lower dkh, trace element dosing, and a strong focus on establishing a very diverse microbe ecosystem.

The biggest challenge I have so far is getting my hands on the products consistently and affordably. AF is out of Poland, and thus all of their products are made in Europe.

Will be following, and feel free to jot down my username and we can compare notes on our progress.

BRS and aquarium specialty has a great selection
Dosing is on the package and the little guild in the package is helpful
