Thinking about starting to put corals in my tank and wondering if it will be ok to go ahead and put corals in while fish are in QT for the next 5-6 weeks. Do I need to wait to start adding corals until the fish are added back? I have ordered a few but can put them in hubbys reef tank if I need to. My tank is already loaded with copepods and I just got in the live phytoplankton. We also have the reef roids.

Thanks for any advice!

How old is the tank? I like to see actively growing corraline before i add corals. But they will.most likely be fine.

They should be fine until you place the fish back in the tank, just be aware that you will need to keep a close eye on parameters when adding new things to the tank, because each addition can make significant changes to your water chemistry.

Tank has been running for about 4 months. We did the fishless cycle. Added a pair of clowns and 2 strange chromis. The corals I have ordered are: Blastomussa Merletti Coral, Gold Leptastrea Coral and Neon Maze Coral. I have a feeling hubby will steal the maze coral when he sees it. I can put all of them in his tank, just couldn't resist them at the price they were.

Decided since I have nothing in the tank now would be the best time to change it the rockwork.
