Trying to empty & rinse my filter socks every couple of hours. Going to add some more sand to the tank & refugium tomorrow... Hopefully one of these days I'll see clear water

It's a little late for this but
When I first set up my fug I ran a pump from the fug stright to the filter sock to get the fine sut out first.
That way none of the fug mud went into the main tank.
Once it settled down I plumbed the pump to the tanks return and started the whole thing up.
