Starting my sump build

Copy away bud! It's the whole reason I'm postin' fer ya>
Your sump build is looking very nice.
I have my in-sump emerg above the water-line to hear when it's running as my Herbie doesn't normally run anything down the emerg.

Did you weld the bubble/detritus trap lid or leave it loose?

I made a removable one in case I want to put my hand or a maxijet in there to clean it out.
Or god forbid remove a fish

Where are you planning to put your heaters and dosing tubes?

I have my heaters before the return in the first half of the trap and dosers over the second.
This keeps my heaters from ever being dry and the dosing stuff gets mixed before hitting the return. I didn't want to dose near the skimmer or whatever I may put in that chamber and currently it's where my chiller pump resides.

I don't run heaters or dose I run a calcium reactor.

So where are you going to run your reactor effluent and mount the probes?
Just curious at this point ...

My probes are in a baffle so they are never dry.
Keeping them as far away from the sock as possible helps keep them clean, so they are right before my return. I have them at the back of my sump and the dosing happens near the front. Front-back width ... ;)
Flow keeps dosing away from the probes. All I need to be aware of is to turn my dosing off when the return is off.

Probe mount will be exactly 1in above baffle effluent line will feed into socks for gas exchange.

Looks awesome! Mind sharing the cost for your build thus far? I have considered building a sump out of plywood, glass, acrylic because of the space constraints I have. I've found acrylic is just so far out in price compared to the other options for a 51 x 24 footprint (or even 48 x 24).

For my whole build or just the sump?

The tank I purchased off of my wholesaler for 200 bucks 48X20X16 1/2" acrylic, florescent orange 1/4 acrylic I got off ebay $195 acrylic glue $13.50

225g tank was $500 metal for the stand was $230 welded myself and plumbing parts were like 80 bucks.

Wow, that seems like a good price for the tank itself! If you can share the supplier, feel free to PM me. Thanks for the information!

It was a tank from my wholesaler that was a mistake. The company did not install the bottom eurobrace so I had to install them. Normally the same tank is 1600 bucks.

So I have built the tab the will secure my ATO hose already and the probe holder. Use the custom probe holder or use my apex magnet probe holder.

All right so my ATO reservoir holds 13 gallon did not leak. My sump hold 29 gallons total. Also added the ato hose mount and my new probe holder.she is ready to be installed. I will be getting sock silencers soon.
