Starting new 10g nano

hi, my question is what would be the benefit,if any, to not adding live sand to my nano tank? My goal for this tank is to fill with corals and one fish. Thanks for all info. I have learned so much from reading post here!

Wouldn't have to vacuum the sandbed periodically if didn't have one. Easier to suck out detritus that way during water changes without sand in the way...

I personally like sand so I put one in my son's 10 gallon nano. But I stir it before water changes and I have high flow in the tank.
