Starting over and I've forgotten everything I used to know....

I had a 'series of unfortunate events' recently. A pipe in the wall burst and caused major damage to the wall and the flooring. Insurance repaired the wall and the entire downstairs flooring but took about 4 weeks to complete the job. I had to move the tank from the living room into the garage for 2 days while they replaced the flooring. Except, the flooring got backordered and then they had another job to complete before returning to mine 2 weeks later. 2 weeks of 100F + temperatures in the garage (great time for a heat wave). I kept adding ice bottles to the tank to try to keep the temp down be sometimes it would reach as high as 93F, mostly staying around 84-86F. Several fish died and ALL of the coral and invertebrates (naturally).
I set the aquarium back up and rushed a cycle (chemically) so I could return the fish to some kind of normal conditions. Now, I'm going thru new tank syndrome and need beginners help again.
Here is a pic of some brownish algae growing swiftly on the rocks, glass, and sand. What is it and how do I cure it?

your best bet for this tank is a common uv sterilizer off amazon, oversized, for a pond. hook it up in back somehow, looks arent important. of the myriad ways to handle the dieoof/regrowth cycle that's the best hardware to help out/

the right way to run them isn't to add them to a challenge tank. the right way to add them is to add them to a cleaned challenge tank, siphoned, rocks rinsed off outside, offending mass cut down back to new looking and they work to prevent.
