Ok well as alot of people read my post about rapid fish deaths. Its been determined that it was a severe case of Marine Velvet, this was not physically seen until the death of my blue hippo. So here I sit looking at my tank. I have a concern. There is a goby still alive at this point and I cant catch him. I know the tank has to remain fishless so that the parasite will die off for a period of 6-8 weeks. Im going for the latter. I have though read that doing the following can assist in the process
1. Getting your tempature up closer to 80-81- I have a full tank of inverts, corals and 2 anemones so will I have issues with this
2. Doing 25% water changes every other day- They say this helps removes the parasites that are in the water column, is this true?
3. What do I do with the goby I cant catch?
4. They say that the bacteria of which Marive Velvet can live off of photosynthesis? - How far back should I cut my lighting down to , I do have SPS and LPS.
Any help on this would be appreciated. I have already lost ALOT and I do not want to put my corals or other inverts in jepordy.
