I was told to bleach my tank. Are there any other less toxic ways to kill parasites that will totally disinfect my tank?

I am starting over everything gone . Rock, sand, rtyc out. Had 3 parasites that have plagued my for 1.5 years. Enough already.

Aquarium and all hardware. Corals in hospital tank, rock & sand gone.

Brooklynella, amelodinium and a strange parasite that is coming in from Florida wholesalers. It is running rampid.

When you ask about less toxic ways, you mean less toxic to you? Or to subsequent inhabitants of the aquarium?

There are likely lots of ways to kill these organisms (acids, bases, heat, other oxidizers and toxins, etc.) , but without detailed knowledge of how much of what it takes to kill all three in any form that might b present, I'd likely pick bleach.

What is this parasite coming from frorida wholesalers? Your best bet is to wipe the tank down and let it air dry completely. Then you have to hold corals in isolation with NO fish for 78 days. You can keep the rock if you want. Just keep it away from fish for the same 78 days

To clarify things, are you looking for a way to sterilize the tank, equipment, etc. before setting everything up again?

Or wanting to dose chlorine directly into water as your disinfection method?
