Starting the cycle

Hi Everyone,

I am starting to cycle my tank this weekend. I am starting with no live rock and all dry white rock.. Just want peoples input on how to be able to develop coraline algae as well! Thank you in advance!

I have done it one time before, but want peoples input on what they do to cycle?
What do you dose your tank with?
How often?

Last time I started dosing my tank with the sechem Stability for the first 7 days and allowed it to cycle it out. Any one have other suggestions?

I might be doing that method again and it worked great!

I was recommended to use Start Smart for saltwater and it worked quite well. For coralline algae, I tried a long time, adding in shells with coralline algae on them. Then I gave up and now for some reason I have too much coralline algae everywhere.

I've also just done it the old school way of buying a piece of rock, tossing in some fish food and waiting. and waiting. and waiting some more.
