Upgrading my tank soon and would hate to buy all new rock, but my current rock is taken over by hair algae and hydroids. I definitely don’t want to bring this over to a new tank (particularly the hydroids), so I was wondering if it’s possible to remove the rock from the tank, add it to a container of salt water, and let the algae and hydroids die out. Is this viable or an ideal route? Thanks!

@becky46 what did you end up doing? I have a pretty bad hydroid infestation and I don’t want to do a “rip clean” unless I absolately have to
