I have 5 hermit crabs and a cleaner shrimp in a 5 gallon all in one

at first there was plenty of algae on the sand bed and they were eating fine
But I stirred the entire sandbed and I don’t see any algae
The hermits are crawling all over my zoas and it looks like they are looking for algae on them?
Should I feed them or what?

The CUC will eat literally anything food wise. Mine swarm in on the food that falls to the sand bed that fish don't eat.

Lay a piece of nori seaweed to the bottom. Also a sm pinch of pellets. They will find it

Of course you should feed them. You would be surprised on how much they eat... especially the shrimp. Like you, if you were staving, would eat a turd if it was the only means to stay alive. But I think you would like something more substantial. My crabs love and wait for their daily night time feeding of Hikari "Clam on a half shell". http://www.hikariusa.com/frozen_folder/clams_on_a_half_shell.html . If you don't supply them with proper food your snails, corals will become their next meal or they will slowly die.

I feed mainly pellets so I feed my cleaner off a skewer with clam, scallop, etc.
