I just noticed this is about Deep Blue Carbon and not Blue Lifes but my post still has a point, stick with tried and true products and don't skimp out in this hobby otherwise you may lose more then you saved.

I wouldn't have a worry about iron causing a problem, but other metals that might be in whatever it is could be, IMO, a bigger concern.

FWIW, many people, myself included, dose iron.

I dose iron my self randy but how we know what is the brown stuff. And when deep blue just say to return the product and get a replacement or get something else is just plain scary

Deep Blue emailed again asking me for where and when did I bought the carbon from and what where my concerns

Breaking news i just did ESV carbon check with neodymium magnets and a lot of it stick to the magnet indicate metal

Yea deep blue emailed me saying that it the metal might not gotten pick up from their process.

On an other note seachem matrix is not magnetics just like rox I been using it since I switch and so far so good

On the deep blue the pieces that rusted where hard I tried cutting it with a diagonal cutter and it snap in half like metal but the pieces that was regular carbon they would just crumble

Wouldn't surprise me if they coated little metal pieces in like a Tiny bit of carbon and sold it.
