I currently have 2xAIPrimes over my 20L..they look and work okay, I have so much trouble with their app and trying to tune them..also can’t connect them to WiFi. I was thinking about maybe trading for 2xKessils 160 (idiot proof lights) or maybe something else..any suggestions?
currently I have had two Kessil 160we over my 55, haven’t touched them in 5 years and they work prefect..so I’m kinda leaning in that direction

The hds are a vast improvement and connect via Bluetooth.

The original HDs that have WiFi

i have the hydras, and no issues, have them for 2 yrs now. I think the app is fine and find it easier to program. If i was going to switch i would go with radions. i had issues in the beginning with wifi, and found out (and in most cases i seen on their facebook page) it was my wifi not a problem with the light

I have a pair of Red Sea 90s above and an AI HD16 fuge light below. The Red Sea lights are much harder to connect and keep stable. I have logged over 20 hours futzing with Reef Beat in four months. The new AI was 15 minutes and I have never thought about it again. The Kessils are nice in that you can really set and forget them if you don’t like to mess with spectrum too much.

In the end, this is a hobby we do for pleasure. If the AIs take away from the part of the hobby that is fun for you, sell them and move on.

Not sure why you have issues? For a tank that small they should work great. I run two on my Reefer 250...

These are the BRS recommended settings except a bit lower on white, more like 12-14.
