Steady decline of ORP over hours

I’ve never seen my ORP behave like this.

Any ideas of possible triggers? No one was home. Maybe a magnet busted?

Nope, left for work early so didn’t even get a chance to feed in the morning. It’s slowly returning back.

The speed at which it is happening is what concerned me. Sudden quick drops are usually the result of something added or an asterina on the probe. Never seen it behave like this.

A big dead organism might do it. Or skimmer overflow back into the tank.

Hard to know. maybe a snail on the probe tip that crawled away?

Checked that. Probe has some sponge growth but that was it. The sponge has been there months. Couldn’t find anything else touching it.

Very strange. Thanks for shooting out some ideas.
