steal stand ?

60l / 24w / 34h the reason im look at steal so i don't ha to have a center brace so i could use 1 of my 75gl as a sump and still have room 4 all my other stuff i want to wrap with wood trying to figure out what type of steal and what size

just an idea the tabs are so i can wrap it ezer and input is welcome

Have you considered aluminum? It doesn't need to be painted, lighter and won't rust. The cost difference is not too much. My frag tank stand, they used I believe 1.5" aluminum and that was an over kill but better safe then sorry. 48"x24"x37".

Also, I know you don't want a center brace on the side, but do it. If you need to get a tank on, use the ends of it to slide it in and out.

It all depends on how thick the steel is on whether or not you put a center brace in. It most certainly can work.

How big of a tank will you be putting on the steel stand. I weld steel for a living and might be able to point you in the right direction. I would think about a removable center brace for the front, with a fixed one in back. I have done this many times for my clients.

I'd use 2x2x1/4" wall square tubing if you have a fixed back brace, and a removable front brace. If you want to span the whole 60" ten you will need something beefier. I have used 3x3x3/8" wall square tube for a 1200 gallon, and that is some heavy stuff!
Are you welding this up yourself? If you plan to, you better have a machine that can handle that material. My Miller can do 1/4" all day, and the 3/8" stuff was pushing it. Best of luck, just don't steal my stand, J

if i need ill break out the old ark welder but a buddy is better at welding than me and he siad he would weld it up 4 me if i got all the stuff
