This past week ive added a raimbow bta, and a beautiful green carpet. The bta is doing great. The carpet is filling out. Today is day 2 for him. Hopefully fish dont start to disappear.

This algea bloom took off in 2 days. Thoughts? Ive cut my lights down to 10 hrs at night only vs. 24/7. Im going to add puregen to tank tomorrow and do a 20g w/c from sump (cleaning all algea off glass). Dt is looking great.
I have a scrubber plumbed into return. I just need to cut slit and get plastic mesh. Im going to do that as last resort.

I got my mesh got scrubber. Should I install? I was going to wipe all sump walls and do a w/c from sump today

This is my take, and I don't know how you prepared, cycled, etc. your tank appears to be about 2 weeks old? Just run your lights as normal, do water changes as normal, feed as normal, stock light, and slow. Nothing good happens fast. You're going to get diatoms, hair algae, etc, keep your skimmer running, hook up your scrubber, better there than in the dt. Enjoy it! It will be beautiful, no need to go fast and furious.

Thanks. I trasfered everything over from my 120. Did 35g of new water at that time. Yeah things just need to settle down

Ok, I didn't know from another tank! My advice (fwiw) is still the same, go slow, why risk it? I would hook up the turf scrubber. The cleaning and water change are a good plan, but your phosphates are probably fueling the algae growth. Cut your photo period back, and limit feeding, and water change in tandem.
