Sterilizing a filter

What do I need to use to sterilize a filter (hob) That's been used in a freshwater tank with columnaris?

Wash it with fresh water, take a tooth brush and scrub everything wash it real good. If you want use ro water as the final stage of washing it so there's not tap water left in your filter.

Assuming you don't have an autoclave, IPA (isopropyl alcohol) is a contact sterilant. Soak in IPA and rinse well.
