Steve’s LEDs Biocube 32

I was wondering who else has a Steve’s LED retrofit for there biocube and what have they learned from having it and if there’s anything they can share. What percentage are your whites and blues at and what corals do best at certain locations in your tank. I just installed mine and would love some new info on them. Also here a pic of my biocube

Hi there, I also have the biocube 32, I installed the Sleve sled lighting about a month ago. I just started increasing the intensity. I am taking it very slow, because I do not want to burn any of my corals. He recommends changing daily. I have only increased one level twice so far. I will change one level again on Sunday. I do notice that the corals seem to be getting bigger and "more alert". I started at the recommended by Steve's. I am having an issue though..My moonlight doesn't go out at night. I have emailed them twice about. I finally got a reply yesterday with a link to the the same setup instructions that I followed to "T". Kinda ticked me off, because I was very specific in my email. I responded back, but no reply as of yet. Nice looking cube.

I dont have the Steve's but put a hydra 32 over mine and my moonlight stays on all night as well. I could me wrong but I dont believe there is anything wrong with it staying on if it is in fact the moonlight setting. Can you adjust the moonlight setting at all on the steves?

Yes, I have it set at 30 on only one channel. It is what is recommended in Steves literature. I don't know. I just wish they would respond. I know it isn't really hurting anything, just the fact that they respond with a link to what I already had...I guess...They all seem to "go to sleep regardless" LOL, my anemone folds up in itself like get the light out of my eyes!!

I lowered mine to 3% and it is barely on to the point I only notice when the room is completely dark. Then I eventually just turned it off haha

I'd turn your room lights off and raise the % until it is barely visible.

Hello, I have had them in the passed in a BC14. They were great lights but you need to mod the hood pretty intensely from what i remember. I would think there are easier options now a days that do just as well and cheaper.. (IMO)

My moon light is set at 25 and it stays on all night too. I think the light is so low that it won’t affect the corals. They only way to have them go off at night is to set moonlight to 0 or a really low number.

They finally replied to my email and said to set it to zero. I reset it tonight. Let s see what happens. I don't want to go without it though..

It’s been 6 months since I got it installed. I tried increasing the light intensity and got some of them burned and won’t open. These are the best setting for my hammer and frogspawn colony so far.

My lights stay out at night now. So the initial set up instructions are wrong to have CH1 at 30 and CH2-4 at zero. They must all be at zero for the lights to go out at night. Loving the new lights though. My corals are too. I have increased two levels so far. Taking it very slow to not hurt my corals. If anyone is interested I am selling my LED strip from the original 32 LED biocube. I actually have an extra entire hood with the original lighting as well as the strip off the one I replaced with Steve Sleds. My first tank came cracked so they sent an entire new setup...all I lost was the actual cracked tank. I am willing to sell any of these if someone wants them???
