So I'm in the process of moving, and I've already moved my 40B reef to its new home. It was getting a bit neglected here, so this was my chance to start over. The tank has been up and running for about a year.
Here's some pics of the original setup. The aquascaping was sort of two islands. I took the chance to re-do the aquascape after the move.
This is an early photo that shows the basic layout.
This is a not so great shot of the reef shortly before it was torn down.
That leads us to the new setup. One of the things I was most excited about was the room had an adjoining closet that I was able to commandeer as the sump room. I just had to run a couple of holes through the wall. Amazingly my girlfriend let me do it.
This was before all the wiring got put in place, sadly it's not quite as neat looking as it is here, but still all the wires actually make sense now and are easily accessible. Win!
Finally, here's a couple of FTS. One thing I did run into is that there was some palys and zoas attached to the live rock. Since this is a totally different scape, some of those wound up in really weird places, like facing the back glass.
Sadly, the skin over the metal shelving unit was a little worse for the wear after the move.
Finally I'll end my initial posting with a little more closeup of the current scape
Not a great photo. I went with more of a wall layout with many more caves and things for better movement. I also got smart and made sure there was enough room around everything to use the mag cleaner this time.
I'll get some more photos later and update this thread at some point.
