Steve's led biocube 32

I've seen a lot of people take the hoods off and stick a Kessil up there.

I love the kessil but out of my price range. I've read alot of good things about Steve's and reasonably priced and fits right in the hood

I would also get the iridescent upgrade which switches the royal blue LED with hyper violet LED

I have 2 friends that have Steve's. The only lighting change I'd even consider!

I run a Steves in my 32. Its a wonderful light. Hopefully @Katrina71 was counting me among her friends;)

As you can see...they work well!

We run them as well. Great lights, super bright and easy to install. Still trying to fine tune our settings. @Scurvy what controller did you go with and what settings are you at?

Had a pair of 29 gallon bio cubes. One I did a DIY with Rapid LED and cree's. Second one used the pre-built kit from Steve's. Both worked well for many years without any issues. The kit I built had a better balance compared to Steve's which was a lot more blue pushing or even exceeding 20K color / spectrum so it was a bit more of a pain to dial in. However, once I got a controller hooked up that all went away and it was much easier. I used a Reef Angel because I was planning merging the pair of cubes together down the road and the controller would carry forward.

In any case LED's in the cubes are a good choice. Steve's pre-packaged is pretty good and lasted us well over 4 years before we took it offline due to the merge.

I have the mini Bluefish controller. When I had mostly SPS in that tank I got to 90% blue and 13ish% whites. Ive since pulled most SPS and have dropped down to 55% blues, 7% white.

Thanks for the response, I am still trying to find the sweet spot with these lights.
