I am growing only LPS corals in my BioCube 32 with Steve's LED kit.
Right now my Blue channels are set at 57% and the white's at 20%.
My LFS tells me that it's hard to get any growth until the lighting is at about 14K.
Also you need the white light for growth - the blue is mostly for show.
My question is how do you determine when the light has reached the 14K level with Steve's kit?
From Steve's website: With all channels on 100% power, it yields a 14,000K blue, simulating an ocean depth of about 15 feet -20 feet : where most aquarium corals naturally grow.
Then Steve states that with LPS you want to be in the 60-70% intensity level - which means you wouldn't be anywhere near the 14K level.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
