I've got this hideous tower-esque structure in front of the weir that I want to remove but it has this shelf on it which has a nice bit of monti plate attached to it.

I'm hoping I can stick the shelf to my weir and keep the monti in basically the same spot but I don't know what I can use as the tank is running and stocked.

I've got some putty I can try but I'd rather not waste my time if it wont work, has anyone had experience with something like this? or got any suggestions?

Thanks

I think the putty and super glue are your best bets. Not sure how large/heavy the shelf is though. You could always cut some PVC pipe to help hold/prop it up while the puut/glue dries.

Other option would be to a fix a magnet to the shelf somehow and use a magnet inside the overflow box. Many folks make frag racks out of old magnet glass cleaners, so if the shelf isn't too heavy, that may work as well.

Thanks for replying :)

The shelf is around an inch thick and maybe covers a 6x8" area ish. I have putty and a little gel superglue and some pipe left from when I plumbed everything in, might have an old magnet glass cleaner somewhere
