Sticks and Fire

Maybe I am getting grumpy in my old age, but I think using sticks and fire for acros/corals is silly. We are grown successful people, why do we need to use these silly slang words.

honestly ,i am a" stick head"since early 90's did not start it someone called me it,it has stuck ;Facepalm
as far as fire,only thing i know is true fire coral,

I like saying sticks haha. Sure I can spell out Acropora, but let's face it... They look like colorful sticks. Even my wife calls them sticks without her even knowing anything about the reefing world. She calls things what they look like and I love her for it. I think that's why that term has taken off and stuck around.

As for "fire"? I don't mind it, I just don't use it much.

To me they are not sticks. They are complex, beautiful living creatures. I guess because the are a living organism, I can't just can't say sticks
