Hi all! It’s been a while since I posted a tank thread since I’m pretty busy with my local forum.

We are trying to get the grandkids excited about the hobby. We got a good deal on a an IM10 and they loved all the diversity it had compared to freshwater. Since they moved , I decided to trade up to the lagoon!

When you have been in this hobby long enough typically you have things lying around. The only thing I paid cash for was the light otherwise it was all in trade !

Started with live rock from my sump in my frag tank and live sand.

Flow: MP10WQD
Heater: Cobalt 100 w (trade for rainbow rhinos)
Pump: stock
Light: AI prime HD
Tank: IM Nuvo 25 with stand (trade for zoas)
(Love the new stands they are plastic not the cheap particle board)

About 3 weeks ago we took it over to the grandkids.

I like to use Dr. Tims and like it better than other brands. I personally feel like it works better than some of the other brands.

Set up was pretty quick!

Got the light going and programmed ! Let the cycle begin !

This was the Nuvo 10 they started with! Hands all over it and a tame platinum clownfish that tolerates it all !

Two days ago I went back to check it out. Not much of a cycle at all. Just a little bit of hair algae and that was it.

Added a few corals from my frag tank as well as some from the local fishstore. If you are ever in the Portland area, I highly recommend Cuttle Fish and Corals as a place to visit ! Great shop with lots of high end corals at great prices! We are defined spoiled in the Pacific Northwest!

We added a fire shrimp and flame angel and Isella was so excited l. Of course the flame angel was Dory. This will be mostly softies and hardy lps! They loved handling the snails and tossing them in! I think we have another generation hooked !

Attempted to clean the glass but it was kind of a futile effort hence the name sticky fingers !

Very nice! Those cute kids are very lucky.

Thanks ! It’s so fun! Isella got a kick out of throwing in the snails and then proceeded to toss the hermits too. I have to work on teaching her to be a little more gentle.

Love this!!

Very cute grandkids, and yes the fingies go in the water.

Nice set up. As cool as the tank looks I can’t help but notice how nice it looks outside the window .
