:nerd: I've had my water tested and everyththing seems fine , so I brought a,crab and it's died , why does this keep happening ? I thought if ya water was ok everything should be ok ? I had my water checked at a place called wharf aquatics , there the best in the country so I totally trust them , but why is this happening ?

Agreed was it aclimated right?

Is this a new tank? Did you buy it used? Could be contamination, was copper ever added to it?

Is there fish in the system? some times retailers hold their fish in copper and the water cant be added to a reef.

Is there anything else living in it now... We need a lot more infor to help you.

It's not a new tank it was fine before it crashed and I have no fish in there as I can't keep a crab at the moment is there a possibility anything could be wrong with my live rock?
This is how my tank used to look before it had a spike of nitrite and crashed

if thats your current tank then your tank is obviously ok. crabs can be sensitive to diff water chemistry i wouldnt necessarily freak out bc you cant keep a crab. also are you sure it died or did it molt and you saw its shell laying on the botton of your tank..ha ha!

that was a pre crash picture.

If your going to use a crab as your baseline when you and your lfs and who ever else has testeed water to be good.. then get a crab and start dripping it.. drip it for like an hour or so.When I acclimate I drip until the volume of water the animal game is has quadrupled.. over kill maybe but it works for me.

i.e 1 gallong in bag.. drip until 4 gallons in bucket.
Add animal and slowly add the makeup water used in acclimation.
Oh once the volume doubles in the acclimation bucket I usually turn up to a very light trickle or it would take forever (still takes a few hours anyways)

did you put a grounding probe on your tank to prevent electrical leak problems
no skimmer is there a air stone to keep your o2 levels up
any carbon to remove possible chemical problems
