Hey everybody so my water was testing nitrates at 100 on my Salifert test and I got this reading before and after a 20 gallon water change (I have a Red Sea 250 about 54 gallon display ) even after the 20 gallon water change there was no change on nitrates. Could this be accurate? Maybe my nitrates were alot higher than 100.

I would try another water change and test again. Your nitrates certainly could have been significantly higher than 100 initially; how do your corals look?

I like Salifert tests kits. But, I just stopped using my Salifert NO3 kit because I checked the kit against a standard after trying to lower nitrates for a couple weeks wihthout success. Turns out it was wrong - and not just a little. I was at 2ppm NO3! Ordered a HACH color disc kit with lab grade reagents and that thing is so ludicrously easy to read. Expensive tho. I would check with a different kit, or have a reef buddy verify.
