Still have low Mg, dosing Magnesion

20g tank, 3 years old.
I had an aneneome and zoas for almost all this time, recently started adding LPS and they were doing poorly. My actual Mg levels were at 850. Confirmed it was my salt (Coralife).

Switched to reef crystals, measuring around 1300 at 1.025 on a fresh mix.
Tank is at around 1000 now after 20% WC and dosing some brightwell magnesion liquid.
Im using the reef calculator, says I need ~65ml to raise MG by 100 ppm.
Long story short I have been dosing for a week the 65ml, and Im only around 1050-1075, so my levels are not rising.

10kKH and 460 calcium. 1.026 Sg fresh refractometer cal

How come I cant get that Magnesium up?

IMO safest and most effective way to do it is with water changes, If I have something like magnesium that’s way out of wack I will do 10-15% every other day until I pull it back in line.

Sounds good. Its a small system so wont be very expensive.
