Still Learning

Welcome r2r.png

Hi everyone,

Currently running a 75g reef tank, upgraded from a 29g about 2 months ago. Running a total of 7 months now. I have GSP thriving, 2 clowns, a valentini puffer and a solo blue damsel.

So far I've long a diamond goby who jetted out of the tank, and a yellow angel who disappear randomly. Oh and 2 anemones...

Anyways, still trying to figure all this.

Currently have 2 HOB filters, a nice powerhead and a viparspectre light.

Definitely at a starting point, but needing to upgrade my filtration.

Anyways, hello!
Welcome! If you like the idea of using a filter system rather than sump, and you’re using a good amount of live rock, I’ve had great success with using a canister filter.
Between my Fluval FX4 canister and a HOB protein skimmer, my SPS are thriving (though, it’s only my 9th month with this setup).
Good luck!

Welcome! Glad you joined. Sounds like you are well on your way! Sorry about those losses - my diamond goby has been kept in by screen and canopy, but its amazing how often he would spook when he was new and go into the air. I've had other fish 'carpet surf' despite the screen and canopy so my containment is not foolproof.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)
