I wish I could get more consistant, Some picture turn out really well (in my opinion) and some turn out like crap. I guess its just practice makes perfect.
Thank you, I'm using the sony A7II with a sony 50mm macro lens. I just don't have a clue what's the best settings to use for fish tanks. So I've been keeping it in auto mode.
In order to get good depth of field I would suggest shooting in Aperture Priority mode and selecting a fairly high (f16 and higher) aperture. This will absolutely require a tripod for the relatively slow shutter speeds. Unless you're going for a more selective focus/blur/bokeh on the background style of photo.
