There IS a scenario where you would have to pay it back.
If you haven’t filed your 2019 taxes yet, it will be based on your 2018 income. If you were lucky enough to earn a crazy amount more in 2019, such that it reduces your entitlement to the stimulus package, you will need to pay some or all of it back when you file your 2020 taxes.

Nada. Canada isn't being as generous. I am an American but live in Canada now, I wouldn't have minded a 1,200 check considering the IRS makes me waste time filing tax returns every year still.

Mine is going to daughter for college account. She still has a balance yet despite scholarships.
We got to travel right now, so I feel satisfied. Not being forced to work next week, so Of Course i'm taking week off next week.
In 9 weeks I get extra week of paid vacation. . . . yayyy

Its intended to stimulate the economy. As long as it is 'spent' on anything, that is the intent. Rent, food, clothes or fish. If you SAVE it then THAT is not the intent. I'm saving it so......im part of the problem
