Stn help

He said he sent the one to a few people and it all came back as duds

I stand corrected. You had duds then. Lol.

I guess the point I'm failing at making is that I've purposely bought unhealthy acros for cheap at the LFS in order to get them healthy. It can be done in a good environment. You've had a lot of tank problems in a short time frame and things need to stabilize before you add more animals. I didn't jump into acros until my tank was 2 yrs. old. It's now 4 1/2 yrs. old and I have many acros. That's all I'm saying. I feel bad for your losses, but you will probably keep having losses until you take a step back. Good luck, hon.

So what’s the chance you think that it could grow back

Maybe 50/50. The problem with it will be possible parameter swings while you're on vacation. If your dad will test alkalinity and dose appropriately, the acro might have a chance at recovery. You never know. Stability is important for healthy acros and even more so for ailing acros. Keep us posted. Good luck. It's a nice acro.

thanks ill try to get him to test and then ill change it on my apex dos. how does everyone else dose 2 part like how many times a day and how long

Oh, I missed that you have a doser. You should be fine then!!

My doser puts in 20 ml. every hour while the lights are on. Then it does 5 ml. at midnight, 3am, and 6am. My alk stays at 8 and calcium at 430.

With the DOS, you dont need to do anything more than just enter your total amount for the day and let it divvy up the dosage itself. What you are getting is small alk spikes when you dose, so spreading the entire daily dosage out over the entire day will minimize those spikes.

I said it in one of your other threads, and its been repeated here as well - stop changing things and tossing coral/random supplements/etc at the tank and pick one thing and do that... for an extended period of time (which is longer than a month or three). Sometimes you can get lucky with SPS, but most of the time with a smaller tank, even the little fluctuations can start a catastrophic chain of events among the bacterial chain within your tank. Just got to give it some time :D

Yes all you need to do is how many ml you want for the whole day and what time start to finish. It will then break it up and dose small amounts consistently throughout the day. I put in 31 ml and it does the rest
