Hey guys I wanted to share an experience I recently had and see if anyone else has had anything similar. This is not an indictment of brs or their ROX product. Just 1 persons experience.

I had a pretty successful reef tank going. It was a few years old. I began running ROX carbon from brs. I slowly worked up to the recommended dose. Everything seemed good. Then my SpS began to rtn from the base up with polyps out. I tried everything to remedy it. I ripped pumps apart looking for rust. Replaced heaters. Etc etc. finally I turned to R2R. Someone mentioned that they had similar results when they started using ROX carbon. So I tried removing it. The problem gradually fixed itself. Now, I wish I had just left it off but I wanted to make sure that was the culprit. So a few months later back in the carbon went and the stn began again. Anyone else have similar results?

I run it and don't have any problems. My tank did crash when I first started using it but now that I've redone it, it's doing very well. Still using the rox carbon.

I'd like to know as I was about to switch SeaChem's Matrix carbon to Brs ROX myself. Just got a big batch of the stuff. Tagging along.

Been running it for 2 years..had a small problem with rtn,but i think it was my water quality, wasn't top notch..now that water quality is perfect, rtn cleared up..while running rox the whole time

Very interesting I have been thinking about getting this carbon....
Do you feed you corals tho? Such as coral frenzy or aminos?

No. I don't feed much. I can eun ROX as long as I only have a trickle running through the reactor. The second I crank it up the SpS stn base up,polyps out. I have run it in bags without issue. Just reactors have issues for me.
