Hello reefers!
I have an acro that has STN
I know STN can be caused by any of 100 things. I believe this was caused by a temperature spike a few weeks back. I wasn’t watching and the tank went up from 78 to about 81 in just a few hours with the windows open. The same day I dosed ALK because it was low and did a water change. I think it was just too much at once. It happens. I have attached some images of the coral. Here are my questions.
1. Should I let it go and HOPE it stops? Or should I snip it and save the tip? What are your experiences with STN stopping if the stressors are resolved?
2. Can it spread to other acros? All my other acros are looking super healthy. I know when STN strikes it usually hits a lot of acros. It is strange that it is just on the one.
3. Is there anything else this could be? I have not seen any bugs or any other indications that it could be anything other than STN.
What would you do to save it?
