Hello reefers,

I have a problem with a nice frag I bought a month ago. When I placed it in the tank it looked like this (the one top left):

A week ago it fell of the rock into the sand and it layed there approx. 8-10hours.
Since then tissue started dissapearing: 20200924_204916.jpg

Today:

Doesn't look like bleaching, the tissue just gets off the skeleton. Haven't seen fish nipping.

I measured the PAR: 150
I use 2 mitras lightbars.

Parameters:
KH 8,9
pH 8,2
NO3 5
PO4 0,03
Ca 430
Mg 1400
Sal 32,8
Temp 25,2°C

All parameters are the same for months now.
Except temperature, I removed my canopy 3 weeks ago and now my temp stays around 25 Tank is running since april.
I use DSR EZ.

For the most part, all sps should be considered expert corals due to their need for a highly established ecosystem.
I even have a hard time keeping most sps.
Then again im a shroom and LPS guy :)

So you mean I have an excuse to buy a lot of LPS next week :D I still don't have zoa's,maybe next on my list now...
Maybe I'll wait a few months before I add more SPS.
Luckily my Montipora digitata is still doing fine

Ya monti digi is fairly hardy
:)
Zoas are great.

I had a local reefer trade me some coral for a yellow tang he needed for his large frag tank. He gave me a mix of corals. Paly, soft, lps, and a few SPS. These were my first SPS corals and they are doing better than the LPS (frogspawn). I don’t test this tank. Just top off with kalk water and do water changes irregularly.
Red planet acro
Pavona
Green playing monti
Green birds nest

all are doing very well. I was sure the acro would be a failure but it has become my favorite in the tank.

That looks great! Did it grow like that in a few months?
