I have a 55 gallon tank with 75lbs of live rock and 60lbs of live sand. It has a protein skimmer raged for 125 gallons. Just wondering if I could keep 3 maroon clowns, 2 engineer gobies and a tiger jawfish together. Any info will be appreciated. Thank you

I know for sure the clowns will be a problem.

Are you sure? I know that it can be done with perculla clowns since my friend has a tank with 5. I'm just worried since these can grow to 6" and are more agressive

Maroon clowns are best in single pairs. The female will get large, but the male wont get bigger than a couple inches. The engineer gobies will excavate all of your sand from under your rock work causing the rocks collapse unless they are supported by something other than the sand. I would not recommend a jaw fish with engineer gobies as the gobies will tend to destroy a jawfish's burrow and stress the jawfish out.

Otter_rs is correct the Maroon clowns are best kept in single pairs. If you have three two will probably pare up and keep the third cornered all the time. I like engineer Gobies but he is also correct the will excavate your sand. I have aragonite bed and they even move it around alot. I don't have a jawfish so I do not know how they will react with the gobies. I do keep engineer gobies and watchan gobies in my 110 gallon tank but they stay on each end of the tank. I keep pistol shrimp with my watchman gobies. I have seen no agression between the engineer s and the watchmans. I would think the Jaw fish would be close to the same behavior as the watchman and pistol shrimp since the also burrow under the rocks.
