I am currently knee deep in a 90 gallon (48x18) with a 40gB sump build and looking for suggestions on additions to my current stock. The tank will mostly contain softies and LPS, but may have an easy 1 or 2 SPS (monitcap, etc)

Split between a BioCube 32 and a 15 gallon nano, I have the following:

2 ocellaris clowns
1 yellow Midas blenny
1 Bangali cardinal
1 biggest pom pom crab

I am partial to gobies, blennies, and the odd/interesting (boxfish, lions, etc)

Some of my favorites are: * NOTE: I do not intend to keep all of these at once due to compatibility. Just examples of what I like*

Watchmen goby/pistol shrimp
Jawfish
Bi-color Blenny
Starry Blenny
Purple Tang*
Chocolate Tang*
Kole Tang*
Boxfish
Lionfish
Butterfly fish
* Yes, there is a back-up plan when these get too big. My fiancee has a 300G.

Let me know what combos would work. Open to anything!

From your list:
2 ocellaris clowns
1 yellow Midas blenny
1 Bangali cardinal
Watchmen goby/pistol shrimp
Jawfish
Bi-color Blenny
Starry Blenny
Kole tang

would work together. The only possible problem is kole tangs and lawnmower type blennies (including starry) sometimes Hate each other.

I wouldn't try to attempt more than one tang in a 90, and the kole would be the best choice.
All the boxfish that I'm aware of get large and aren't great reef fishes.
A dwarf lion could potentially eat your blennies, gobies, clowns, jawfish. Full-size lions certainly would.
The best butterflies for a 90, IMO, would be pearscale, chevron, spot band (BUT NOT dot dash). They would not be reef safe. I have had a tang kill a butterfly in a 90 gallon, so I probably wouldn't mix them. Some folks do have luck with copperband butterflies in reefs, if they avoid certain corals.

That should get you started.
