stock tank sump powerhead(s)

for those of you that use a stock tank for your sump.

my stock tank will have the return pump on one end, rocks and heaters in the center and the skimmer on the other end.
I would assume that you would need to have a powerhead in there to help circulate water.

where is the ideal place to place the powerhead? is more than one required?

I will be using a Hydor EVD 1500, quantity depending

I run a tiny green killing machine UV in my sump. I put carbon and a few grams of Rowaphos in the available chamber. FWIW

yes I have a powerhead in my sump, its a 20 gallon tall tank, without the powerhead the water had a filmy buildup on the surface so I added the powerhead. There is no space to add a second powerhead, but I'm going to upgrade the one I have.

As above, I have a small bag of carbon in the sump, I hold it down with a rock somewhere in the flow.
