Hi everyone!
I'm getting a new tank in January and am starting to think about the contents.
Nothing is ready though, I just have the tank, and all ecotech equipment.

I don't really have a list of fish I'd like to see, but there is one of course: a Zebrasoma flavescens or a Zebrasoma xanthurum.
Any suggestions of what I could put in this tank, and how many?

Hi Vithi, and welcome to Reef2Reef!

The key here is; what fish will make your heart beat just that little bit faster when you look at them ... for the next ten years or so?

Zebrasomas can be pretty rough with each other, and with other fish that are similar (tall, rounded profile, laterally compressed). My purple tang is definitely tank-boss, and not shy about letting everyone else know it - but that's _usually_ in the form of short chases. New arrivals get the business for a couple of days, so it's best to add fish like tangs toward the end of your stocking.

In my tank (220 gallons), I've got tiny gobies that perch on the rock or dig in the sand, anthias and wrasses that cruise above the rockwork, a blenny that perches and another that hovers, dwarf angelfish (reef-safe _with_caution_!) who flit in and out of the caves, a pair of blue-throat triggers, a variety of bright-colored damselfish of the genus Chrysiptera . . . I like a wide diversity of fish, different colors, different habits, different micro-habitats within the reef environment.

Part of the fun is checking out the catalogs, the availability lists, the habits and habitats, and imagining where a particular fish might fit in your plans. Enjoy!

Thank you Maritimer! That's great info. I guess I'm really set on the Zebrasoma, and it's just deciding what kind of doctor I'd want. Or perhaps I can put 2 in a 132 gallon, not sure. For the rest, it's really open. :)
