ok I have been setting up a 180g since november 2011. I am moving everything from my 120g into it. I have all peaceful fish and want to stock it with a bunch of small peaceful fish, what should I add?
fish I have
half black mimic tang
blizzard and picasso clown pair
onyx/picasso and darwin clown pair
3 sharknose gobies
black clown gobie
helfrichi firefish pair
starry blenny
blue mandarin

I was thinking I may adda shoal of orange line cardinals other than that not sure what to add

Tangs are always nice to add some colour. With that size tank you could add a few yellows, a purple, even some of the larger ones, vlamingii (my favourite), achillies, powder blue, regal blue etc. all more or less peaceful and will get along with each other. (just add yellows at once and be careful with purples they can be a little mean to other tangs at first). Chromis are a nice fish to have a shoal of as well.

I dont care for the Zebrasoma tangs and want this tank as peaceful as possible
I have been looking at the anthias but most seem to like cold water (seems all the ones I like anyway)

I was looking at a horned batfish but I think it would be a problem with the small fish I have? I am looking for something different that allot of people dont have

First I would look at your tank and see what area of the tank is empty. Top/ Middle/bottom also are you wanting an active fish or one that sits around. Mid water I love the Anthias. top of the tank I would go with a Chromis. Bottom I would go with some Gobies. if you want some inactive type fish might suggest like a cardinal of some sort. Maybe put in a Dwarf angel or hogfish.

I would also look at what colors you have in your tank and try to aviod adding the same colors again.

I have plenty of room for anything rock is set up so I have the most floor space as I can with as much swimming space as I can have. not really any "empty spots" basically the back wall is covered coming out into 3 tapered columns

I love my lps so I cant have anything that would even have a chance at munching on them

I just need something that swims around that I wont have to look for. I was thinking about some swallow tail angels but worried about my small fish when they get big.
my experience is anything that will fit in a fishes mouth they will eat

my 120g looks empty as far as fish with what I have now. I figured with a 6' tank I can get away with two pairs of clowns, so I got another pair

First- good luck with 2 pairs of clowns i tried and fail
Second- chromis are nice and fast but also mean i started with 6 and 1 left took hims out last week to give it to someone in my club
Third- get some dart fish i have a barred dartfish and would like to get at least 2 more dart fish
Since we both like peaceful fish i think smaller fish and tangs are good at that

I have seen an entire "clown gang" be very happy together for 2-3 years. It included Black/Whites, and I think some Picassos.

A few ideas:

A trio of Carpenter's flasher wrasses or McCosker's flasher wrasses, Chromis, Tomini tang, Bartlett's Anthias, and Fang blennies (nothing bothers them because they have venomous fangs and swim in open water. They are very peaceful though)
