Setting up a 28 gallon nanocube in the lobby of our office at work. Looking for stocking help. Want fish with lots of personality. Im thinking gobies, blennies etc. Give me some ideas. Also what is everyones go to place if buy fish online?

Since lots of people will see it, most people love clowns, so probably a pair and eventually an anemone (wait at least 6-9 months for the anemone). Although, you’ll probably have to hear “It’s Nemo!” 200 times a day….so if that will drive you crazy, avoid clowns. For fish, I like reefbeauties.com

Goby shrimp pair
Splendid wrasse / dottyback
Chalk Basslet
Mandarin Dragonet

Yeah, this is at a university and mostly professors will see it. I have plenty of clowns at home so might try and stay clown free. Ha.

Ah I’ll give my little secret away, but the biota eviota goby is easily one of the coolest colored fish, is a max size of like 1.5”, is quite bold, swims and perches, eats like a pig and gets a big black belly. My fav nano fish and is aquacultured. I suggest buying at least a trio as they are SMALL

If you can get any of these then I would go the peaceful route, away from damsels and clowns;
- Discordipinna griessingeri (Yes these can be elusive but over time they get used to people being round the tank)
- Pseudocheilinus ataenia (See above)
- Wetmorella tanakai (See above)
- Stonogobiops yasha & Alpheus randalli
- Gobiodon okinawae or atrangulatus

This is just a small list of species you could own, I can do a longer one later if need be :)

Barnacle blennies are funny, cute, peaceful and tiny fish. If you go that route, I’d get a few. If you want an uncommon and beautiful fish (and it sounds like you have experience) a pair of orange spotted filefish are gorgeous. They do require some initial work to make sure they are eating and you’d need an auto feed to make sure they are fed at least 5X a day.

Those are cool looking. I was already thinking auto feeder for over the weekends.
