Hello,

Currently upgrading my smaller tank to a 135 gallon tank.

Tank goal is just a mixed reef so anything that will eat coral I am not interested in.

My current livestock is the following:
Hippo tang - 2-3"
Black ocellaris clown x2
McCosker's wrasse
Adorned wrasse

Looking to get some more fish now that I have more space for them.

Male Bluethroat trigger and Japanese Swallowtail Angelfish.

I agree, but I would do a pair! That way you can see the beauty of both the male and female swallowtail! I would also say get them captive bred as they are way easier than wild caught.

Really beautiful fish in person and great personality if kept with other robust fish.

will the trigger eat up my cuc? cleaner shrimps/peppermint shrimps/blood shrimps?
I have snails, crabs, conchs, sand sifting starfish but no shrimp. He doesn't bother any of them. My Melanurus Wrasse on the other hand is an equal opportunity cuc eater.

yeah i have heard of Melanurus wrasse's destroying cuc populations, i do love that trigger so i may give it a go tank is starting its cycle this weekend. Am i able to put the trigger through a 14 day QT with copper or are they sensitive to copper levels ?

Personally, I would rethink the hippo. They get big, too big for a 135. Maybe a smaller tang?

I have a pair of bellus angels in my 150. love them.

Few more flasher wrasse?
Goby?

the hippo needs a 180 minimum, maybe 220 or more. But, that’s going to be so awesome to stock regardless. I have a 65 and i’m already thinking my dream tank that i can afford would be roughly 114g.

take a while for them to outgrow this tank so im not too worried about it atm. If he does i can pass him along to another reefer with a bigger tank or maybe ill have something larger by then.
