Hello all, I have a fully cycled biocube 32 with about 28 pounds of live rock, intank media basket, plus a heater.

Currently have:
pair of occ clownfish and a hilarious flame hawk fish, clean up crew is currently four blue-legged hermit crabs.

Would like your thoughts on my future stocking plans, pros/cons and all suggestions are welcome.
thinking about:
Cleaner shrimp (larger one so the flame doesn’t mess with it) AND
watchman goby/pistol shrimp (but concerns about the flame harming this duo) OR two banggai cardinals

thoughts?
I’ll also be adding some more clean up crew critters so share your flame hawk safe favorites and some corals and such down the road

thank you!

Hey @chrislynn welcome to the club! I have never kept a hawk since I love my shrimp but I would think a large pistol shrimp would be pretty safe. How about a starry, sailfin, or lawnmower blenny? Those guys are hilarious to watch!

Yup, you could accommodate all of that in your cube. Id say a full size hawkfish is the biggest contender for outgrowing the tank.

Small schools of Banggais (like 3) look really neat

Thanks for the ideas! The flame likes to think he owns the bottom of the tank, so I was wondering about a blenny being doable.

Thank you! I love the look of the banggais, a school would be beautiful! I just wasn’t sure about the numbers.

Gotcha. You could be right, I haven't kept a hawk. Ya there are some really cool fish out there that I would love to have but if they don't play nice with my inverts then it's a no go. So no hawks for me

He’s a character and so far we are really liking him. And the hermit crabs are safe so far. Fingers crossed!
