What types of corals are easy to keep and would do well in a 30-gallon tank? The inhabitants so far are two clowns and a few snails. I might also be getting a hawkfish. I know that mushrooms and zoas are good for a small tank.

Keeping coral isn’t a about tank size . It’s mostly about lighting and parameters
Try Lps like Hammer , frogspawn, blastos, torches

There are loads of corals and it doesn’t really matter on the size of the tank, but as already said it’s light and water parameters and you need to maintain these otherwise those expensive corals can easily die

LPS corals are generally easy to care for

This is a good article on parameters and you really need to get the ‘critical’ levels in your system within these before adding coral and then maintain them

Keeping livestock is all about being a good ‘water keeper’ and if you can do that you should do well

And welcome to R2R as well!!
