Hey guys I am new to saltwater tanks. I've been keeping freshwater in 20g most of my life. So I plan to keep a fish only tank with live rocks in a 20 tall. What are some nice stocking combinations in a 20 tall? I want to keep active fishes that swim mid to high level that aren't too aggressive to one another.

Combinations of 2 or 3 of the following fish should work: firefish, royal gramma, chalk bass, midas blenny, zebra dartfish, scissortail dartfish.

Will the goby+pistol shrimp do well with these fish? especially the gramma

Hi, Kim7 - and welcome to Reef2Reef!!

Goby & pistol should do OK - especially if the gramma is a bit smaller. The shrimp will spend most of its time underground, and the goby will be its early-warning system in case of trouble.

Dartfish will utilize the upper waters, firefish will spend most of its time midwater, the gramma not too far from the rock most of the time, and the goby near the sandbed. Sounds like a plan to me!
