I'm putting together a stocking list for the tank that I'm planning. It will be a 5x2x2 150g or a 6x2x2 180g, still not set on size just yet but deffo no smaller than a 150g.

The fish I've shortlisted are as follows:
Regal angel x1 (would be added after 6-9 months of the tank running)
Purple firefish x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Tinkeri butterfly x1 (would be added after 6-9 months of the tank running)
Flame angel x1 (would be added after 6-9 months of the tank running)
Snowflake clownfish x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Red firefish x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Bangaii cardinal x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Red sea mimic blenny x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Royal gramma x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Coral beauty angel x1 (would be added after 6-9 months of the tank running)
Copperband butterfly x1 (would be added after a year of the tank running)
Diamond watchman goby x1 (would be added after 6-9 months of the tank running)
Mccockers flasher wrasse x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Carpenters flasher wrasse x1 (would be added fairly soon after tank is cycled)
Mandarin goby x1 (would be added after a year of the tank running)
Blue striped tamarin wrasse x1 (would be added after a year of the tank running)

Not all of these fish will make it to the display, but this is the list I'll be choosing from. I've tried to make sure they're compatible, I just want your views on it.

Also out of curiosity, would they all go into a 180g sps dominant reef? The list is 16 fish total which I am happy to cut a few off to make it work. The initial plan was for a mixed reef of softies, lps and sps, I've changed that in favour of sps dominant with a few euphylias here and there.

Awesome. Yes, I'm expecting them to possibly nip at the lps corals but not so much the sps and if they do it shouldn't be too bad hopefully.

I know all fish eat copepods and other microfauna, but have I got too many pod feeders in there in regards to a mandarin, copperband, tamarin wrasse and a diamond watchman. Will a 180g be able to sustain them with a refugium and plenty of live rock?

I wouldn't want them to starve, but then again I wouldn't buy one or any if they at pods and only pods.

If I decided to swap out the larger angel for a powder blue tang or a white cheek tang, would the tang be ok in a tank of the above dimensions?

Better yet, could I just add a tang to that list or would I be seriously overstocking?

The tang would be happier in the 180 than the 150 - a point in favor of thirty extra gallons!

I don't think that the copperband or diamond goby will pay too much attention to the same 'pods that the tamarin and mandarin will be focused on, so you've really just got two pod-predators to consider. Another point in favor of those thirty extra gallons . . . and a good refugium.

The tang will be definitely be happier in a 180g since tangs love extra space but I think it will be okay in a 150 .. stocking seems good .. maritimer answered all the other points

Haha well, it goes without saying I'll push for the 180g even if it means I have to wait a while longer to have this up and running. Tbh I'm pretty happy to find I can house all these fish plus a tang in a 180g, I was fully expecting to have to cut my list short.... this is literally my dream fish list..... realistically anyway lol
