Im new to saltwater tanks, however ive done a lot of research on this. Im curious on some pretty fish that can go in there im getting liverock in there, and some corals not exactly sure what types yet.

A lot of nice options for a 20 gallon of course a lot of fish are off the table, tangs, angel fish, foxface etc. I’ll give you an example of some but you can look at other types of the same type. Tail spot blenny, watchman goby pair with a pistol shrimp, yellow tailed damsel, royal gramma or a pink streaked wrasse and a couple clowns. I would say about 4 fish would be your limit, adding one or 2 a couple weeks apart.

Alright I do really want some clowns, I was loking at the watchman goby, and pistol shrimp. But aren't damsels aggressive thought ill look at some others though for sure

I have a possum wrasse in my 20g that is very laid back. Also 2 clowns, a royal gramma and a pom pom crab. Pretty peaceful most of the time. Once in a while the larger clown and royal gramma don't play nice.

Yes some are but a few have the reputation of being more passive such as an Azure and yellow tailed damsel. I have a yellow tailed in with 5 other fish with out any problems. It was added last ( important) well over a year ago and is on the bottom of the pecking order.

K so if I get a damsel I will add it last.

Yes, can’t wait to see a picture of your tank with life in it. Don’t forget to start a build thread so we can all follow along with your fun.

Fire fish, scissortail dart fish, pajama cardinal, bangai cardinal, oceallaris clown, six line wrasse, blennies, some damsels. I would stay at 4 fish, and put a few interesting shrimps or snails to complete the living stock.

Alright I love firefish I will look at those for sure

For sure. This is kinda an unrelated question, but to corals need a light?
Yes Corals need a light, without a full spectrum light they will starve and die

I highly recommend getting a decent first light and don't cheap out too much, I did this and now have three crappy lights sitting in my closet
