My cycle is complete in my Nuvo 20 and I am preparing to introduce fish & inverts into the system. This was the stocking list I had in mind:
1. 2x ocellaris clownfish (Must have - hoping they pair)
2. Royal Gramma OR Possum Wrasse
3. Yasha Goby OR Yellow Watchman Goby (w/ Pistol Shrimp)

Looking to have four fish total in the end. Was planning to stock 2x similar sized clownfish first, then waiting a month and adding the Goby/ pistol shrimp, and then finally adding the fourth fish after another month. Will I have aggression issues introducing the fish in this order?

Inverts:
1. Pistol Shrimp
2. Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
3. Harlequin Serpent Starfish
4. 3 Hermit Crabs
5. 2 Nassarius Snails
6. 2 Trochus Snails
7. 2 Turbo Snails

Starting with a few of the snails and a hermit crab, then slowly working in the remaining list. Will the shrimps co-exist? Any other items I am overlooking? Any other fish substitution recommendations?

Appreciate everyone's feedback! Here is a FTS - large rocks on left are directly on glass, small rocks on right are on sand bed.

I don’t see an issue with the fish. I have an IM 20 with 2 black ice clowns watchman goby and a yellow clown goby. CUC is a cleaner shrimp tuxedo urchin and mix of snails. Not sure about 2 different shrimp in the same tank maby some one else can help out there. Kinda worried the starfish might outgrow the tank. I added all my fish together but I bought the clowns already paired.

I do not see an issue with your stocking list. Make sure to get two small clowns for the best chance of them pairing. I would add the clowns last to help avoid aggression issues. I really liked my royal gramma but would probably get a black cap basslet if I had the option.

I would wait on getting any CUC until your tank is showing something to "clean up". I like scarlet reef hermits and blue leg hermits, others can get big and cause issues. Turbo snails can get a little big, I like astraea and trochus snails. Nassarius snails have been largely useless for me. I would also wait on the starfish until the tank has matured a bit.

The shrimp will get along fine. Make sure you get this pistol shrimp (https://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+2971+704&pcatid=704) and not one of the larger species.

I think your tank could benefit from some additional rock as well. Overall everything looks good and you have a good stocking list for that size tank.

I truly appreciate all the feedback! This is my first tank and I suspected a few of the things you stated to be true, so it’s good to have a voice of re-assurance.

Think I’m going to drop by the LFS and see if they have any good looking Gramma’s or black cap’s in stock. Will also probably pick up a blue legged hermit crab to start off.

What’re your thoughts on getting a piece of live rock from the LFS?

I got my rock from the tank at one of my LFS but that can come with pests so do so at your own risk.
