I have a 45 reef tank with an occ pair, baby yellow tang, and a flame angel. I also have Sps, Lps, softies etc. I am considering another fish to add. Would like to remain without a canopy because open top is just the best, at least for this tank. no jumpers. Any ideas?

Not to be a downer here, but a yellow tang isn’t gonna last long in a 45 and neither will the flame angel unfortunately. If you already have a larger system for them and you’re just using the 45 as a grow out then that’s great but those fish get too big!

Any of the shrimp gobies are good, Pygmy angels (cherub and flameback) are great, a chromis, geometric hawk fish, longnose hawkfish, midas blenny, pretty much any of the blennies actually, a few of the pufferfish (sharpnose and valentini I think are okay but do some research!), basslets, rooster fish, coral crouchers just to name a few. I tried to stick with fish that aren’t known for jumping, but every fish has the potential to do that. Good luck, and do your research on the care of any fish before you buy it!
