So I went to one of the lfs and came across what I thought was a really decent deal on this tank. I said why the heck not and bought it because I've been wanting a cool little reef tank to put on my night stand or something.

Of course the first thing I did when I got home was unbox it and see how it looked on my night stand.

It claims to have 7600k white lighting so I figured some softies would do alright in the tank. If any of you have this tank and know this light won't be enough, do tell me please. As far as fish go, what could I put in here besides the go to fish (clownfish)? Will the stock filtration be enough? Will the water coming from the filter be enough flow or do you think I need something a little more? Should I just put one of my rocks from my established tank in the middle or should I buy a new rock and attempt to make a mini aqua scape?

That tank is made for dwarf seahorses! You'll need to raise brine shrimp but its worth it.

I had this tank for a betta once upon a time, my ex demanded i left it since i was taking my 120 reef with me lol. I don't think the light is adequate for much. I remember being very disappointed with how dim it was and how it seemed to spotlight the middle but left the edges dark. This does look like a newer model then mine, so it is possible that they have upgraded the lighting:)

Do you know if there is any upgraded lighting I could buy?

This actually sounds like a really cool idea but I don't know where I could get some sea horses around here. Are sea horses reef compatible.

ur only problem is that they are like mandarin gobys, only eating live foods and very very small ones at that! and are also very very susceptible to the sting of hydroids which will kill them plus they don't live very long from what I remember so I'd stay with clowns

I also use the chi for freshwater. That is a new light fixture design so I can't tell you how bright it will be. There is not a large amount of flow. It is only a carbon filter so I would not heavily stock unless you add on a hob protien skimmer. This would be great to highlight the rarer nanofish. It may take time to find them but would be worth it.
