Looking for some advice on stocking my 55 gallon tank. Wanna keep it as friendly as possible

Have no fish in it yet but have some hermits and snails

Yea definitely don't want triggers or damsels or tangs because they are to big for a 55 , forgot to mention it will be a reef tank

Was thinking a goby but don't really know what else maybe a pair of clowns but Hurd they can be ***** in small tanks

Pajama cardinals have been the most peaceful fish I have had in my reef that you could keep a few of and they didn't want to kill each other.

Honestly make it in to a wrasse tank!

My 55 was a wrasse tank and so was my 54 (I have since combined them in to a 125)

I would do a flasher wrasse of some sort (red), a Ocellaris clown or two (Orange), a yellow canary wrasse (yellow), Vroliks wrasse and/or lime green wrasse (green), a solar fairy wrasse (blues), a lubbocks wrasse (purple/pink), and a leopard wrasse or two (regular leopard would be cool) but they're tougher I am not sure of your experience level. if money is no object, Scotts fairy, or lineatous wrasse instead of lubbocks.

In my 125, I have:
Male blue star leopard
Female blue star leopard
Ornate leopard
Black leopard
Potters leopard (potters wrass)
2 regular leopard females
Scotts fairy wrasse (Cook Islands variant)
Exquisite fairy (Maldives variant)
Solar fairy
Lubbocks fairy
Mccoskers flasher wrasse
Filamented flasher
Yellow coris (canary) wrasse
Vroliks wrasse
I may be forgetting one or two

In my "wrasse tank" I also have a blonde naso, a few firefish, a Bangai Cardinal and a green target mandarin

They all get along fine. I've had others as well without issue.

In my 180 angel tank I also have a red coris, lime green, banana (too big for a 55), and an established cleaner
In my 180 reef (tang tank) I have a radiant, another established cleaner, and another Vroliks

You need a wrasse username, not a ford one!

I consider myself a wrasse nut, but I am a custom ford nut too.

I also love tangs, I have: achilles, powder blue, yellow belly hippo, blonde naso, desjardi sailfin, purple, and yellow

I am also an angel but but flukes wiped out my trio: had passer, Queen, and emperor. Now all I have is a flame left. :(

Wrasses are cool, I hate tangs now though after they wrecked my clams (in another thread), sold the ones I had and doubt I will ever get another.

I don't think there is anyone in this hobby that doesn't think large angels awesome in a huge tank!

Now Fords on the other hand... haha!

I've had 22 fords throughout my life and loved every one except for one. I keep 3-4 at a time. I also have had two dodge (biggest garbage ever) and 6 GM vehicles (all but one was total garbage)

I've read your tang thread, i kept clams and tangs for quite awhile without issue. Very odd.

And yeah Angels are cool but I screwed up and feel like an angel murderer!

From that tang and clam thread sounds like most are fine, but it's not terribly rare to have issues with them either. I'm still mad at them.

I owned two dodge ram trucks, brand new, the 1st broke 2 transmissions in 10k miles and the driveshaft. There was no towing or offroading with that truck. I traded it for another brand new ram. In 30k miles it broke 7, yes 7 transmissions. 3 of those were at the dealer before I ever got the truck back, they said the trannys failed before they returned the truck. 4 times it left me stranded. All under warranty but I got rid of it and will never have another dodge.

I am treating for flukes right now. I lost some fish not to flukes but I think lack of 02 despite having a pwrhead at the top. Sucks.

But enough thread derailing. For the OP I have also always thought about doing a wrasse tank, but I wasn't sure about different wrasse compatibility.
